Replacing batteries in industrial equipment can be time-consuming, particularly when the equipment is sealed or operating in high-temperature environments.
Maxell has developed a rechargeable all-solid-state battery module in the same compact format as a 1/2AA-size ER battery. It provides a 3.6 V output, supports wireless charging and is available in versions capable of operating at temperatures of up to 125°C or 150°C.
The new module could reduce the need for regular battery replacement, helping to cut maintenance work and the number of used batteries requiring disposal.
