Maxell, Ltd. has taken a major step toward advancing sustainable manufacturing with the installation of its ceramic-packaged all-solid-state battery modules, PSB401010H, in industrial robots and controllers at Subaru Corporation’s Oizumi Plant in Gunma, Japan.
Test operations, which began in August, mark the first deployment of Maxell’s rechargeable, long-life all-solid-state batteries in a large-scale automotive production environment. By replacing conventional single-use batteries, the new modules are expected to significantly reduce battery waste, minimise maintenance needs, and enhance reliability in demanding factory settings.
